Kirra-Lea Caynes has been making jewellery for over 10 years. Her visual arts education allows her to bring a lot of creativity and innovation to her jewellery designs with fine jewellery skills learned through an apprenticeship. Kirra-Lea collected the twigs from her garden or picked them up wandering around Melbourne. The rings are made by submerging twigs in hot water, bending them around a mandrel and fixing them in place with wax. All twigs are cast in silver using the lost wax casting technique. Once in silver rose gold flowers are added to feature on the twigs, giving them a Japanese inspired appearance.
