Elise Newman is a Melbourne based contemporary jeweller, whose work draws on influences from the world around her; film, art, travel and popular culture. She is interested in colour, shape and a sense of playfulness which all entwine to create unique hand made pieces. Elise studied at NMIT, completing an Advanced Diploma in Engineering Technology (Jewellery) in 2008 and has since worked from her studio in Brunswick, where she creates each piece of jewellery. Elise works in both gold and sterling silver and adds colour in the form of precious stones or enamel paint to bring out the lustre in these precious metals. As each piece of Elise’s jewellery is handcrafted you can be assured that it has been made with care and precision, and with the right love and care it can be treasured for many years.
